SWK 260 - Introduction to Social Welfare (3 cr.) This course analyzes the history, organization and adequacy of major cash support, in-kind, and social service programs in the United States. Particular attention is paid to the ideological, political and economic factors that have shaped their development. The emergence of social work as a profession and the role of social workers in social welfare programs are also examined. Liberal arts Prerequisite(s): SOC 101 Semester(s) Offered: Fall
