MUS 113 - Music in Canadian Cultures (3 cr.)

Overview of music making in Canada from the seventeenth century to the present. Discussion of the cultural roles of these types of music in Canadian life. Examination of representative classical, folk, and popular works. Survey of basic elements of music, significant listening component.
