CHE 451 - Physical Chemistry I (3 cr.) The first semester of a two-semester sequence of physical chemistry for majors other than chemistry (biochemistry or other majors). Physical chemistry is predominantly concerned with the application of calculus to describe chemical systems. Emphasis in this first-semester course is on gas laws; work; heat capacity; general thermodynamics; equilibria and rates; and, mechanisms associated with kinetics. This is a lecture only course. Liberal arts Prerequisite(s): CHE 242 , MAT 225 , and PHY 112 . Semester(s) Offered: Fall
