Curriculum 8063
The major purpose of the graduate program in Special Education is to prepare master teachers capable of meeting the educational needs of students with mild and moderate disabilities. Those with a B.S. or B.A. in related fields may pursue an M.S. Ed in Special Education - Grades 7 to 12 Generalist (Curr: 8063). Those with an initial teaching certificate in a content discipline may pursue an M.S. Ed. in Special Education - Grades 7 to 12 Generalist with a content extension (Curr: 8063). All applicants for the M.S.Ed. in Special Education - Grades 7 to 12 will be subject to a transcript review to meet SED mandates. For more information contact Special Education Programs . Program Requirements 34-43 Credits
Additional Degree Requirements
All candidates must complete a capstone portfolio and portfolio defense in EDS 512 during or after student teaching.
All M.S.Ed. graduate students must earn a grade of B or better in courses used to complete program requirements. Students who fall below a 3.0 overall GPA will be placed on academic probation and are subject to dismissal from the program.
