CRI 251 - Criminal Law (3 cr.)


An introductory course in US Criminal Law. Topics covered include criminal law as informed by the US Constitution and Bill of Rights, the common law roots of the criminal sanction, basic criminal culpability, the elements of numerous statutory crimes, various defenses, and legal argument in trial and appellate criminal courtrooms.

Prerequisite(s): CRI 150  and criminal justice major or criminal justice minor.
