CMM 498 - Communication Internship (3-12 cr.) Supervised experiences in professional workplace settings for qualified upper-level Communication Studies, Broadcast Journalism and Media production majors. Students combine knowledge, skills and theory learned in the classroom with practical application in a variety of private and public organizational environments (across in-person, remote and hybrid modalities). Students are responsible for finding their own internship placement and are required to apply for credits in the Department of Communication Studies to determine eligibility and receive approval of internship placement. Weekly journals and course assignments are required; a minimum of 120 hours of work over 15 weeks required for every 3 credits.
Prerequisite(s): Junior standing, Major GPA over 2.75, “C” or better in CMM 101 and CMM 118 Felony Questionnaire Required Semester(s) Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer
