CMM 118 - Media and Society (3 cr.)

Examines the development of various communication media including both the traditional forms of mass communication and new digital media. Provides an overview of the distinctive histories and characteristics of each medium, as well as an introduction to theories of media reception, textual analysis, and the impact of media on social, political, and cultural life.
