CMM 298 - Summer Career Exploration Internship (3 cr.) This applied learning experience is for those early in their career exploration, providing supervised practical experience in a specific sector related to Communication Studies, Media Production and/or Broadcast Journalism. Practicums integrate classroom knowledge with practical application and skills developed in professional settings. Students are responsible for finding their own practicum placement and are required to apply for credits in the Department of Communication Studies to determine eligibility and receive approval of practicum placement. A minimum of 120 hours of job shadowing and work is required, and students are expected to actively reflect on their experiences through various written assignments. May be taken up to 3 times so long as the placement site varies. Prerequisite(s): Sophomore standing, “C” or better in CMM 101 and CMM 118 Semester(s) Offered: Summer
