ECO 203 - Introduction to Quantitative Methods for Business (3 cr.) The course will develop students’ quantitative reasoning abilities in preparation for more advanced classes in business disciplines. Proficiency with mathematical techniques is developed, with an emphasis on problem solving and decision making in the business world. The course will cover topics in basic algebra, matrix algebra, differential calculus and integral calculus, and their applications to business and economics, such as marginal analysis, price elasticity, break-even points, consumer vs. producer surplus, financial ratios, optimization problems and forecasting. Liberal Arts Prerequisite(s): Completion of math competency requirement. Semester(s) Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer, Winter
