LAS 330 - The Drug War, Narco-Trafficking & Human Rights in the Americas (3 cr.) An examination of drug trade in the Americas from production and trafficking to dealing, consumption, violence and corruption; looking at drug trafficking and the War on Drugs from historical, comparative and contemporary angles, and the way that international drug policy has shaped drug trade and civil society. In addition to political policy, students will analyze the effect that the Drug War has had on human rights, migration, trade, poverty, political power, militarization and the environment.
