INT 101 - Introduction to Judaism (3 cr.) This course introduces students to the history, traditions, beliefs, and culture of the Jewish people. Topics include an overview of Jewish history; Jewish theology, liturgy, and sacred texts; holy days and rituals; and different movements and denominations within the Jewish tradition. We will also consider such contemporary issues as Zionism and anti-Semitism; relationships with Christianity, Islam, and the state; conceptions of gender roles and sexuality; and questions of identity, assimilation, and intermarriage.
