HIS 173 - French Communities of Canada (3 cr.)


This course examines the history of French-speaking communities of Canada from the colonial period to the contemporary era. It explores their connections with francophone communities in the United States and France, and considers the roles of these linguistic communities in a global society.  The course will also explore how historical events have shaped and given expression to the various forms of contemporary francophone culture in northern North America.
