GWS 350 - Feminist Science Studies (3 cr.)

This course is a historical examination of the field of science in the United States from a feminist perspective. It focuses on feminist science and technology studies and the problems associated with the under representation of women and people of color in STEM fields (science, math, engineering, and technology). It emphasizes understanding relationships between systems of oppression (e.g., racism, sexism, heteronormativity, and ableism) and the development, ethics, quality, and impact of scientific research in historical and contemporary scientific practice and knowledge production in the U.S.
