CMM 101 - Introduction to Public Speaking (3 cr.) Students learn the fundamentals of preparing and delivering effective oral presentations, with an emphasis on informative and persuasive public speaking. The course introduces skills including presentation organization, nonverbal communication, and logical structure; use of visual aids, research, and evidence; ethical considerations; and techniques for building confidence in public speaking. Public speaking is designed to empower individuals to become part of the democratic process and engage diverse opinions on socially relevant issues.
