CLG 559 - Spirituality in Clinical Practice (3 cr.) In this course, students will learn how and when to incorporate spirituality and religion (S/R) into therapy. Readings, discussion, media, and immersive experience will be utilized to support growth in S/R cultural competencies. S/R will be explored from psychological, cultural, and philosophical perspectives, with an emphasis on holistic health and meaning-making. A variety of worldviews (theism, nontheism, atheism, and agnosticism) and key constructs (S/R trauma, spiritual struggles, mystical experiences, sacred moments, spiritual bypassing) will be covered.
