CLG 558 - Ecopsychology and Applied Ecotherapy (3 cr.) This course provides a broad overview of nature-based therapies and explores their benefits for coping and holistic wellness. Through this highly experiential course-including hiking, forest bathing, kayaking, mindfulness walks, gardening, farming and cooking-students will learn how to incorporate nature-based ways of understanding and intervening into therapy. Key constructs to be covered include anthropocentrism, environmental justice, environmental grief/despair, climate crisis and solastalgia, ecological self, biophilia/biophobia, sense of place, ecological-consciousness, ecological literacy, and earth-based spirituality.
