BIO 117 - General Biology I Lecture (3 cr.) Fundamental principles of biology at the molecular and cellular level are considered beginning with the chemical basis of life and including cell organization, energy transfer through photosynthesis and respiration, information flow from DNA to protein using transcription and translation, cell replication, including DNA replication, mitosis, and meiosis, and aspects of genetics, including Darwinian genetics. BIO117 cannot be taken in addition toBIO 100 , BIO 101 , or BIO 103 for credit. Must be taken in addition to BIO 118 to fulfill the BIO101 degree requirement. Lecture Only.
