SOC 305 - Sociology of Women (3 cr.) This course examines the social construction of gender and cross cultural comparisons of women’s experiences with an emphasis on the variability of global gender stratification and life chances. Course materials develop the ways in which gender intersects with other socially-relevant categories such as race and class while considering the dynamics that address the social and culturally evolving comprehension of identity within a traditionally binary construct.
