PHI 270 - Philosophy of Mind, Brain and Consciousness (3 cr.)

Survey of major historical and contemporary philosophical positions about the nature of mind. Topics include the mind-body problem, the problem of consciousness, the problem of other minds, identity theories of mind, materialism, functionalism, artificial intelligence, and cognitive ethology. Material drawn from the neural and cognitive sciences as well as philosophy.
