GWS 386 - Transnational Queer Film (3 cr.) This course examines how queer identities are represented in film from a global historical perspective. The course compares a range of genres such as documentaries, drama, comedy, and propaganda films. The course focuses on queer content but also includes queer filmmakers, directors, producers, and actors. It explores queer discourses, representations, and LGBTQ struggles for rights and recognition around the world. Emphasis is on films from the twenty-first century.
