GWS 104 - Gender-Based Violence (3 cr.) This course provides an overview of the concepts, history, and social science methods of gender-based violence. It utilizes an intersectional framework for understanding gender violence that includes race, ethnicity, nation, class, sexuality, and (dis)ability. Students will examine current information about sexual assault, including key resources for prevention and response. Special attention is devoted to college life. Topics include family violence, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, the criminal/legal system, advocacy, and activism.
