BIO 347 - Epidemiology and Public Health (3 cr.) An introduction to the fields of epidemiology and public health. Topics will include general types of diseases and disease transmission, history of human disease outbreaks and control, methods for detecting and determining the source of diseases and disease outbreaks, mitigation and elimination of diseases, ethical questions related to disease control, and epidemic and pandemic disease events.
