CSD 550 - Social, Emotional, Behavioral, and Cognitive Correlates of Communication Disorders (3 cr.) Description and exploration of relationships between communication disorders and a variety of social, emotional, behavioral, and cognitive impairments in children and adults; analysis of these deficits with respect to language-learning disabled children, as well as to special populations including autism spectrum disorders, selective mutism, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, abused/neglected children; and psychogenic communication disorders. Delineation of assessment and intervention methods, and the roles of the speech/language pathologist in the assessment and management of these disorders as part of a professional team.
