SWK 305 - Cultural and Ethnic Diversity (3 cr.) This course examines the impact of cultural and ethnic diversity in American society within the framework of social work values. Oppression, exploitation, prejudice, discrimination, and devaluation of groups based on “differences” are explored as historical and contemporary characteristics of society. Implications of cultural and ethnic diversity for the profession of social work and the practice of professional social work are emphasized. Liberal arts Prerequisite(s): Junior Social Work Major, SOC 101 , PSY 101 , BIO 100 or BIO 103 , MAT 161 , 2.5 Cumulative GPA. Semester(s) Offered: Spring
