SWK 304 - Social Welfare in Comparative Perspective (3 cr.) Analysis of ways in which different societies respond to human needs and risks to human well being. Emphasizing the importance of a society’s fundamental values in determining social welfare policies, programs and practices, this course compares and contrasts social welfare in the United States with that of Canada, Mexico, and other nations. International social work and the relationship between global interdependence and social work are introduced and examined. Liberal Arts Prerequisite(s): ENG 101 , SWK 260 , social work major.
