NUR 435 - Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing (4 cr.) Mental health concepts and selected theoretical frameworks are used to prepare the student as a provider of mental health care. The student will identify mental health and psychosocial risks in vulnerable populations, and promote, maintain, and restore mental health. Legal, ethical, cultural, and social justice issues are emphasized, with the need for inter-professional collaboration. The course provides clinical experiences in acute care and community settings.
Prerequisite(s): satisfactory completion of all junior level nursing courses. Semester(s) Offered: Fall, Spring
