HIS 355 - Gender and Migration in the World (3 cr.) What are the “gender rules” that affect migration? How do different communities cope with the need to migrate and the demands of family structure? Compares gender-based migration strategies in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries around the world, evaluates reasons for success or failure and assesses the interaction of gender and ethnic identity.
