HIS 320 - History of U.S. Youth Culture (3 cr.) A cultural history of the American teenager, focusing on the post-WWII era and examining how style and culture play central roles in both youth identity and youth marketing in the United States. Extensive discussion on popular music; films, such as Public Enemy and Blackboard Jungle; and the relationship between popular media and national trends and ideas of juvenile delinquency.
