CSD 241 - Speech and Language Development (3 cr.)


This course covers communication development in children from birth to pre-school age. Students will be given information on relevant theoretical influences from both language and psychology domains. Also provided will be information regarding specific acquisition sequences, the impact of social and cultural influences on communication development, and how physical and cognitive developments are integrated in the process of speech/language acquisition. Students will enhance their grammar knowledge for the purpose of analyzing children’s grammatical error patterns.
