CMM 365 - Media and Popular Culture (3 cr.)

An overview of popular culture as presented by the media; address such questions as how do the media frame and shape culture, what is the relationship between media and popular forms of entertainment such as music and sports, and how do issues of gender, race, class, sexual orientation, national origin, and ethnicity affect media portrayal and reception.
