CMM 330 - Criticism of News Media (3 cr.) A comprehensive examination of the processes through which journalists “reconstruct” social realities in the form of “news products” and how media consumers make use of those products. Reviews a variety of factors influencing these processes in order to help students develop critical perspectives both as future practitioners of journalism and critical consumers of journalistic products.
