This certificate introduces participants to foundational skills necessary for competent personal performance in diverse adventure settings. Based in the Adirondack Region, this certificate offers a gateway to backcountry travel in all seasons, allowing participants a wide range of future applications, including: field studies (diverse disciplines), further study towards the Expeditionary Studies, B.S. degree, or simply lifelong enjoyment of outdoor environments. Note: This program is not directly eligible for federal or state financial aid. However, coursework within the program may qualify for aid if it counts as electives toward another aid-eligible degree program or is taken in addition to a full-time course load of 12 aid-eligible credits.
