The nursing programs at SUNY Plattsburgh prepare students for excellence in nursing practice. The undergraduate programs lead to a Bachelor of Science with a major in nursing. Major Departmental Requirements 60-61 Credits

RN transfer students will have a minimum of 30 cr. and a maximum of up to 34 cr. granted for prior nursing courses in the following content areas:

Nursing Fundamentals/Foundations
Maternity Nursing
Pediatric Nursing
Care of Adults
Medical and Surgical Nursing

Nursing Credits taken at SUNY Plattsburgh: (30 cr.)

Nursing Elective, Upper Division

Meet Nursing Department Progression Policy. Refer to Nursing Program Information and Policies RN-to-BS .
The undergraduate residency requirement of SUNY Plattsburgh must be met, but the senior residency requirement does not apply.
NUR 350 must be taken prior to senior (400-level) nursing courses.
The program must be completed within six years of beginning the first nursing course.
Completion of all Undergraduate Degree Requirements , including General Education: The Cardinal Core Curriculum , elective courses if applicable, and a total of 120 credits minimum.
A minimum GPA of 2.0 in Major Departmental Requirements.
