MUS 301 - History of Western Music: Antiquity - 1750 (3 cr.)


Study of style, form, genre, compositional techniques, representative composers and repertoire from Antiquity through the Baroque period. Attention is given to the relation of music to the culture and social institition of each era. Extra-class listening laboratory time assigned.
