CRI 496 - Teaching Practicum (1-3 cr.)


Students will assist in preparing and teaching a criminal justice course under faculty supervision. Responsibilities may include lecturing, leading discussions, tutoring, assessing students, and contributing to course planning or evaluation. This practicum provides hands-on experience in teaching, classroom management, student engagement, and professional communication. Students will also develop ethical awareness in instructional roles by upholding academic integrity, fairness, and responsibility. Duties will be arranged with the sponsoring faculty, allowing students to build skills applicable to academic and professional settings.
Liberal Arts
Prerequisite(s): Junior or senior standing, minimum grade of B+ in the course in which the student will be teaching, minimum GPA of 3.5, and permission of the instructor.
