AST 120 - Earth to Exoplanets: An Introduction to Planetary Systems (3 cr.) An introduction to planetary astronomy with emphasis on what it means to be a human living on a unique sphere within a larger planetary system. Topics include observation and exploration of Solar System phenomena, theories of planetary system formation and evolution, the search and discovery of exoplanets, the possibilities of extraterrestrial life, and off-world colonization. Students will have the opportunity to visit the Northcountry Planetarium as well as experience first-hand sky observations. Liberal Arts Prerequisite(s): Completion of math competency requirement.
