BIO 218 - Introduction to Forensics (3 cr.) This course examines various disciplines within forensic science and their application within the American judicial system. Numerous areas of forensic science will be explored, including DNA analysis, genealogy, toxicology, entomology, ballistics, blood analysis, and more. Methods used to store and analyze biological evidence will be included as well as the process of crime scene investigation, evidence collection, and data interpretation. How results are used to prosecute and exonerate individuals and biases that exist within the field will be discussed.
