CMM 459 - News Reporting and Production (4 cr.)

A hands-on study of gathering, writing, editing and presenting news for the broadcast media. Emphasis is placed on writing style, news gathering, presentation and performance. Every week students pitch stories, produce news packages, VOs, VOSOTs and other news elements and then put them all together for a live-to-tape newscast. News stories and newscasts are then critiqued in subsequent classes. Lecture/Lab
