CMM 301 - Communication and Culture (3 cr.) The intersection of cultural identities, such as class, ability, gender, race, religion, and nationality by focusing on communicative practices in everyday life. Examines the social and symbolic construction of culture in mediated (e.g. film, social networks, music, fashion, bodies) and non-mediated communication contexts. Examination of the ways people (re)create cultural communities or resist cultural norms, commodification and dominant ideologies. Liberal arts Prerequisite(s): CMM 101 and sophomore standing
