ART 205 - Introduction to Graphic Design (3 cr.) The objective of this course is to build a foundation of knowledge in graphic design. The course will introduce the student to projects intended to reflect the variety of visual and creative challenges in the graphic design field and includes a basic history of graphic design. A major component of this includes the introduction to and working knowledge of the vector-based Adobe program, as well as a cursory introduction to other design software such as Adobe Indesign and Photoshop. From this foundation the student may proceed into more specific areas and gain specialized knowledge in future course work or independently. An emphasis is placed on creative thinking and personal expression.
