CHE 420 - Basics of Nanochemistry (3 cr.) Nanochemistry is a relatively new branch of Chemistry dealing with the assemblies of atoms or molecules at the nanoscale level (~100 nm). Special emphasis will be placed on the design, synthesis, characterization, toxicity and applications of nanomaterials. Topics covered include synthesis of nanomaterials, characterization techniques, cellulose nanotechnology, nanotoxicology and applications of nanomaterials in various fields such drug/gene delivery, molecular imaging, nanomedicine, biosensors, COVID-19 nanodrugs etc. Liberal Arts Prerequisite(s): CHE 241 or POI Semester(s) Offered: Fall
