CSD 241 - Speech and Language Development (3 cr.) This course covers communication development in monolingual and multilingual children from birth to preschool age. Students will be given information on relevant theoretical influences from both language and psychology domains. Also provided will be information regarding specific acquisition sequences in the areas of speech and language, and how cognitive development is integrated in the process of speech/language acquisition. Students will enhance their grammar knowledge for the purpose of analyzing children’s grammatical error patterns. Liberal arts Semester(s) Offered: Fall
