GEL 101 - Physical Geology (4 cr.) Geology is the study of the earth–its evolution, composition, and the processes that formed it and continue to shape it today. Students will learn how to use the principles of geological science to understand and interpret our physical environment and local geology. In the course, students will learn the ways that geologic processes affect the earth’s atmosphere, hydrosphere and biosphere. The course will explore how geologic processes affect human society as well as how humans influence geologic processes.
