EDU 230 - Creating Supportive Classroom Environments (3 cr.) This course prepares teacher candidates to develop a positive classroom environment that supports prosocial behavior for elementary students. Teacher candidates will review assessment tools, analyze behavioral data and connect behavioral needs to evidence based interventions. The course will include a focus on social emotional learning and trauma informed practice for elementary teachers. This course fulfills state-mandated requirements for the Dignity for All Students Act (DASA). (Minimum of 10 hours of field experience.) Prerequisite(s): EDU 240 or equivalent; B.S.
