CSD 445 - Introduction to Speech Sound Disorders (3 cr.)


This course will provide information regarding the etiology, diagnosis and therapeutic management of functional and organically-based articulatory and phonological impairments. Normal and impaired development of the articulatory and phonological systems will be described. Specific assessment, diagnostic and intervention procedures will be explained. A general introduction to cultural and linguistic diversity, and speech impairments exhibited by individuals with cerebral palsy and cleft palate will be presented.
Prerequisite(s): CSD 342  and junior standing
